Predicting Weather

Predicting weather is not my strong suit but it needed for properly maintaining a landscape and managing transition such as winter overseeing. I did it a week too late on most of my properties this year. But just like the winter cut backs ( frost damage removal) its early to do too early. Looking are several different weather websites the middle of next week is either going to be near of below freezing, So my Cut backs are likely to start in a couple of weeks.

Overseeding time!

Temps in the 80's nights low 60's to high 50's. This is when you should start. Bermuda growth is basically stopped and its still warm enough for rye to germinate. Win, Win. A couple of weeks ago (Night still in the 70's), when you saw the Big Guys starting your HOA it was technically too early and most of them knew it, but they have so much area to do, they don't want to risk the last area's being too late (Days in the 60's or nights in the low 50's to 40's)
Now's the time to start, you can get away with no seed cover or just mulch.

Now is the time to start getting ready for over-seeding!

With the economy being on the up-tic, more people are thinking about over-seeding this year than in 5 or 6 year.  There are two things you should be doing now to make you over seeding go as smoothly as possible. 1) Fix your sprinklers now (Landscapers done have as much free time in a month to help.) 2) Start working on getting your lawn weed free now. (Often take a couple of rounds of chemical)
Get ahead of the game, and make your life easier later.

New name, same faces!

Starting July 1st, Pacheco Brothers Gardening Inc (of Arizona) became Pacheco Gardening & Landscape Services. PBG Inc is still in full operation in CA under the ownership/leadership of brothers George & Gary Pacheco. George Pacheco & Mark Pacheco (who had been the Branch Manager of AZ operations since 2005 when operations expanded to Queen Creek, AZ) are now the Father and Son ownership team of the new Pacheco Gardening & Landscape Services. All other aspects of the company will remain in place for a seemly day to day operation transition. You will have the same employees and professional equipment to service your property.
